Batterij Park Zeewolde is a 32MW/65MWh battery energy storage system which is built next to the Windpark Zeewolde substation at the Vogelweg in Zeewolde. This storage system is connected to the Vogelweg substation via a Closed Distribution Network. Batterij Park Zeewolde is a participation of different parties including local residences, making this a local owned project. Rolls-Royce Power Systems is building the project and suppling the large scale battery storage system. The system includes 16 battery containers and other equipment such as inverters and transformers.

We have been awarded to execute the operations of this project on behalf of the owners. In close cooperation with the owners and their project development team, we merged specific requirements in our proven way of working. With our team in the Operating and Control Center in Emden, we guard the condition of the system 24/7 to ensure it can be deployed in the most effective way. While this continuous watch enables the offtaker/toller to act swiftly on market demands, our asset management team keeps track on the performance of system and the contractors to identify optimisation on short and long term.
One of the reasons for BPZ to select OutSmart is our proven track record in general, but for Windpark Zeewolde and Vogelweg substation/Closed Distribution System specifically.
Being appointed by Windpark Zeewolde and Vogelweg substation/CDS to operate their assets, enables us to maximize synergy for these parties by having a complete overview on the activities on the location and the CDS.
Our involvement began right at the start of designing the project as the electrical installation responsible of Vogelweg, provided by OutSmart, is closely involved to ensure the electrical integrity of the site.
We are looking forward to this new project and follow the built closely!
